What initially started as a passion for bringing people together through themed dance parties in the Caribbean (with dance instructors and multiple DJs) later added R&B and hip-hop concerts. This wonderful experience has grown into a global community of Urban Professional Adventurers who have taken trips to all corners of the world.
At Dancin' Doug Travel (DDT), every trip is about more than reaching a destination. It's about creating experiences, connections, and memories that last long after the journey ends.
One Passion, Endless Destinations
Founded in November 2006 by Douglas Colón, Dancin' Doug Travel (DDT) was built on a simple idea: travel should be exciting, social, and unforgettable. What began with Caribbean travel parties soon evolved into a growing collection of international group experiences and a celebrated global Bucket List Series. Today, DDT helps travelers explore the world through carefully planned group vacations that combine adventure, culture, and community. DDT has grown into an Independent Host Agency with over 60 Travel Agencies under our umbrella.

Douglas Colón is a Certified Travel Associate (CTA) through the Travel Institute and is widely recognized as one of the travel industry's leading group travel specialists. His expertise has earned him recognition as the largest group organizer at the Annual Travel Forum, where he is invited to speak to share insights with fellow travel professionals.
About Douglas “Dancin’ Doug” Colón
Douglas Colón was one of the three Original First-Generation B-Boys who created this unique dance genre at the beginning of the Hip-Hop era, dating back to the historic August 11, 1973, gathering at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx. His unique breakdance style earned him the name “Dancin’ Doug,” given by DJ Kool Herc and MC Coke La Rock, the original founders of Hip-Hop.
In November 2021, Douglas and other early creators of Breaking/B-Boy culture were officially recognized by the City and State of New York for their contributions to the creation of Break Dancing (also known as B-Boying or Breaking) and inducted into the annals of the State of New York.
Douglas later became a Special Agent / Criminal Investigator with the U.S. Federal Government’s Office of Labor Racketeering in New York. He rose through the ranks to become Special Agent-in-Charge and Regional Inspector General of the Philadelphia and Atlanta Regions before retiring after 25 years of federal service.
That background is part of what makes DDT unique. Douglas built DDT with a strong focus on safe, secure, well-organized travel, while still delivering the fun, fellowship, and family atmosphere that DDT is known for around the world.
About Kuan-Ying Colón-Kenny
Kuan-Ying Colón-Kenny, affectionately known as “Ying,” is the eldest child of Douglas Colón and serves as the President of DDT CSI. Ying has worked for the federal government since 2001 and is retiring. As she transitions from her federal career, she will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of DDT.
Ying has been traveling with the agency since our second trip to Mexico in May 2009. Over the years, Ying has provided invaluable support behind the scenes for DDT and has also successfully led several trips on her own. She has consistently been willing to travel and lend a helping hand wherever needed, contributing to both our Summer Madness and Bucket List trips. Her dedication, flexibility, and commitment have made her an integral part of the DDT family. Her daughter Jada serves as her Assistant, as well as Briana, the daughter of Douglas’ next daughter, Latanya (the Chief Financial Officer).

Charitable works are part of the foundation of DDT. It’s who we are. It’s what we do.
Since our inception, the DDT Family has believed in giving back. Travel has always been bigger than vacations for us. It’s about people, purpose, and making a difference wherever we can.
In the early years, DDT supported the “New Friends New Life Ministry” in Dallas, Texas, an organization dedicated to helping battered and sexually exploited women rebuild their lives. Each year, DDT raffled off a FREE trip, helping us raise thousands of dollars for this important cause.
Then tragedy struck our DDT family when one of our beloved “Capos” (Group Captains), Robert Player, unexpectedly passed away from Pancreatic Cancer. In true DDT fashion, we rallied together and created a separate charitable effort to help pay for his daughter’s college tuition, making sure his legacy of love and leadership lived on through action.
That spirit of giving eventually evolved into the official DDT LOVE GIVEBACK Program, where our travelers bring school supplies, toys, donations, and hope to communities around the world. Whether it’s helping children at orphanages, supporting local villages, or simply showing kindness in places far from home, the mission remains the same:
